Steve Bloomer's goal count was unknown at the time the article was written. In fact his 300th goal was scored in the second of two scored against Huddersfield Town on the 23rd September 1911. At the time this article was published he had scored 311. His last goal for Derby at the age of 40 was scored in front of 12,000 fans in the home game against Sheffield United on the 6th September 1913. Bloomer scored two and Derby lost 3-5. He scored a total of 332 for Derby County: 131 ahead of his nearest rival Kevin Hector.
